With today’s agriculture market, both pull-type and self-propelled sprayers have become more advanced, from larger tanks to wider booms, and faster ground speeds.  Selecting the right tire and rim for each machine and the needs of the operation is more important than ever before.  Kirchner Wheel offers many different brands and styles of tires along with the correct size to fit the customer’s needs.  Sprayer rims start with a heavy rim base of .276 thickness up to .312 depending on the rim size.  The rim centers are spun material ranging in thickness of 5/8 to 3/4 for strength. Flotation Tires and Rims
With the increased amount of pre-emerge chemical today, flotation tires allow the farmer the ability to get in the field earlier because the wider footprint they provide leaves less compaction to the field compared to standard row crop tires.  Ride quality is also improved because of the lower air pressure they operate at. Flotation Tires and Rims
Duals are used on sprayers that are set up to run on narrow rows.  They allow the machine the ability to distribute the weight over more tires, leaving less damage to the crop and field.  Duals are fitted for 20”, 22” and 30” row spacing.  (Note: Some sprayers are not able to run duals due to the design of the machine.) Narrow Tires and Rims
Narrow tires are used on equipment built to run between the rows to minimize crop damage.  Kirchner Wheel Inc. offers many different tire and rim sizes to fit the equipment and the row spacing the farmer is working with.
